Welcome to the Forestdale Pocket Forest!

The goal of this project is to use a small parcel of city-owned land as an opportunity to create community around the shared act of gardening and neighborhood care. By working together, we can take a small space and make it meaningful for the residents of Forest Street, Goodwin Avenue, and surrounding areas.

Between several properties on Goodwin Avenue sits a small parcel of city-owned land that once went unseen. Rather than leave it empty, our community came together to transform it into Malden’s first pocket forest — a space that supports local pollinators, a resilient climate, and the sharing of culture and knowledge through plants.
